God is building a home. He’s using us all – irrespective of how we got here… He’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day – a holy temple built by God… a temple in which God is quite at home.

Ephesians 2:19-22 (The Message)

Welcome to Vision Builders 2019!

WHAT AN EXCITING TIME FOR OUR CHURCH!
We’re in an exciting season here at C3 Picton. Our recent Vision Builders campaigns have enabled us to make some brilliant improvements to our building. Through your generosity we’ve been able build a new stage, make sound and multimedia upgrades, build a new parents room and kitchen, install new flooring in the foyer, and most recently, install our brand new entry! Our commitment to improvement will continue this year so that we make the best possible facility for both our existing church members and those in the community who are yet to join us. Our children’s areas will receive a complete redecoration in order to make them a place that children just love to be. We also have a dream to be in a position to rent an additional property in our complex, that would provide us with community outreach opportunities during the week, as well as give us space for future growth in our services.

We’re delighted to invite you to join us in our Vision Builders 2019 campaign. Together as we play our part we will see this vision become a reality.

Serving and giving with you, Rohan and Jill Bell – Lead Pastors.

Our 2019 Campaign goal – $30,000

Funds raised in our 2019 campaign will contribute towards the following…
    • Redecoration of our children’s facilities.
    • Minor finishing touches to the renovations on our foyer and auditorium.
    • Rental costs of our current building and contribution towards establishment costs and rental of an additional facility in our complex.
Why vision Builders?

The church is commissioned by Jesus to bring the good news about Jesus to our community and the world – Matt 28:19. It’s important that our church is in an influential position within our community.

Vision Builders has a strong biblical precedent. Whenever there was need for improvements to God’s house in the bible, whether it was new facilities, repairs, upkeep, new tools for worship, relocation or expansion, there was a giving campaign. Our regular tithes and offerings are intended for the day to day running of the church, wages, consumables, utilities etc. Vision Builders will allow us to expand our vision and see our church firmly established where we can accommodate more people into God’s family.

Vision Builders will help us serve two main groups of people:

  1. Our existing families. We may be in a rented facility but we still want to create a place that our own people are proud to call their spiritual home. A facility that meets their needs and helps them develop and deepen their love for Christ.
  2. New families yet to come. There are many people yet to join our church. We’re sacrificing now to create a building for them to join us in the days ahead.
What can you do?

Our vision is that every person, regardless of their background, whether young or old, would give to God through Vision Builders, holding nothing back, freely and generously, in worship of our magnificent God. Vision Builders is not just for the ‘rich few’, it’s a team effort. It’s not about equal giving but equal sacrifice.

So what can you do?

  1. Prayerfully ask the Lord to direct you how you and your family should be involved. How much money does He want you to give? How frequently should you give it? What sacrifices is He calling you to make to fulfil your Vision Builders commitment?
  1. Review your budget. Your commitment should always be made in faith. Faith puts us in the blessing zone. ‘Without faith it’s impossible to please God’ (Heb 11:6). But don’t be presumptuous either. You should be able to clearly identify the sacrifice you are making for God’s house to be built. ‘I will not sacrifice to the Lord that which costs me nothing.’ (2 Sam 24:24).
  2. Complete a Vision Builders Commitment Card or complete an online commitment from (top of page) and begin making payments towards your pledge.

The most successful way to fulfil your commitment is by making regular weekly, fortnightly or monthly contributions. Regular giving is rewarding and quickly builds as illustrated in the table below:

Frequently asked questions

Can I give to vision builders instead of tithing?

Here at C3 Church we believe and teach the principle of tithing (giving a 10% of income) as the benchmark for Christian giving. Those funds are used for the general day to day operation of the church (Mal 3:10, Matt 23:23). In the bible Capital Giving Campaigns for buildings and facilities were always viewed as giving above the tithe. We’d encourage you to continue (or commence) tithing as first priority and then give to Vision Builders over and above your tithe.

Is involvement in Vision Builders compulsory?

We do ask that all people serving in leadership roles within the life of our church be committed to our lifestyle of tithing and to our Vision Builders campaign. This is so that our leaders can do just that, lead the way for the rest of our church. If you are not a leader there is no expectation for you to have to be involved in Vision Builders however we do strongly encourage you to commit in some way as you are able. In Matt 6:19-21 Jesus said that where our treasure is there our heart will be also. A Vision Builders commitment is a wonderful way to ensure that your heart is aligned Jesus’ heart – His church.

How should I determine how much to give to Vision Builders?

Prayerfully consider the level of giving you feel is appropriate for you.  A combination of faith and wisdom should be used in determining how much to give. “Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established.” (Prov 24:3). However your giving should cost you something and you should also be able to quantify the sacrifice you are making for God’s house. David said, “I will not sacrifice to the Lord that which costs me nothing.” (2 Sam 24:24) We promote regular giving as the best option as this encourages a consistent generous lifestyle.  However, you may prefer to contribute a lump sum, such as your tax return. Another option is to sell a possession online that you no longer require and give the profit. If you’re keen to give but can’t see how you can then why not prayerfully ask the Lord for ideas? You may be amazed at what He suggests!

I want to give to Vision Builders but dont have much money? Can I still be involved?

Certainly! Anyone who resonates with our vision is welcome to participate in Vision Builders. Our philosophy is equal sacrifice, not equal giving. There is absolutely no pressure for anyone to give, nor is there a minimum required amount. It’s entirely a free-will offering. However we do unashamedly encourage you to participate. Together, when each of us plays our part, regardless of financial status, age of life or stage of life we can reach our Vision Builders goals. Children and youth can fundraise or give from their allowance, adults can sell something, or even forego purchasing a cup of coffee each day and make one before you leave home. You’d be amazed how quickly a small sacrifice like that adds up.

Do You need my personal details or can I remain anonymous?

The choice is entirely yours.  The church will never pressure you into fulfilling your commitment and anonymity is entirely your prerogative. Oftentimes people prefer to go on record because they treat their commitment as a pledge to the Lord and ask for accountability. Having a record of your giving also means that our accounts department can update you on progress you’ve made towards your commitment. Your personal giving details are treated as confidential at all times.

am in significant debt, should I pay off my debts or give to Vision Builders?

If your debt is out of control (e.g. extreme credit card debt) then that should be a high priority for you. After your tithe getting your debt under control should be your next priority. Reducing the debt to a manageable amount should be done before significant commitments are made to Vision Builders. In the end you will be in a position to give more to God’s Kingdom and your quality of life will be so much better. We certainly don’t want you giving your way into further debt. If you are struggling with debt and can’t see a way forward please speak to a pastor or leader. We can provide you with strategies and support to help you get out of debt.

Where does the money go?

All designated Vision Builders income is used for the purposes laid out above. Our board of directors manage all church funds with complete integrity and a number of safeguards are in place to ensure financial integrity at all times. Additionally our accounts are independently audited each year and a summary of income and expenses is available at our annual Financial Information evening.

What if I can’t fulfil my pledge?

We encourage people to make a realistic commitment as this helps our board to be able to make financial decisions based on an accurate budget. That said, we understand that sometimes unexpected events happen and for whatever reason people are unable to fulfil their pledge. The Church does not bind anyone to their commitment. If you find yourself in this position you may still want to fulfil your commitment however. This can be done by breaking it down into smaller amounts over a longer period of time and rolling it into subsequent Vision Builders Campaigns.
